・元々地頭が必要な問題が多い
もしかすると、あなたもこんなイメージを持っているかもしれません。
私自身、高校生の頃はそのように考えていました。
しかし、東大の問題をよく見てみると、
知識レベルで見るとかなり基本的な部分を聞いていることが多いです。
例えば、国語で出題された漢字を例に取ると
「獲得」「怠惰」「頻繁」
など、どの高校でも習うような基礎的なものばかりです。
数学でも、教科書の範囲を超えるような知識を試される問題は少なく、
使う知識自体は教科書に載っているような問題が多いです。
そして、この「教科書レベルの知識しか必要としない」
という部分に東大からのメッセージが隠れているのです。
東大が求めているのは「知識の多さ」ではなく、「〇〇」
どんな大学であれ試験において受験生に求めることは基本的に以下の２つに大別されます。
それは
①その科目の知識
②その科目の知識を適切に運用する力
の２つです。
多くの大学、特に私立大学では①の知識が問われます。
いわゆる早慶のような一流大学でも①知識と②思考の割合は、学部にもよるとは思いますが、
その割合はおよそ1:1程度だと思います。
多くの大学で「知識」を問う問題が出題される中、
東大だけが9割以上の問題で「思考力」を問うています。
しばしば「東大の問題は難しくない」と言われますが、
①知識の面では、基本的な部分しか問うていないからだと思います。
実際に、どの科目においても教科書を大きく逸脱するような知識を問う問題は
基本的に出題されません。
では、なぜ「東大は日本一難しい」と言われるのでしょうか？
それは「思考力を嫌というほど試されるから」です。
知識が「道具」であるなら、思考というのはいわば「道具の使い方」です。
道具を1日や数日で用意する事は出来ても、道具を使い、自由自在に操るようにするには
より多くの時間がかかりますよね。
思考も同じで、一朝一夕で身につくものではありません。
東大では「論理的思考」がどれだけ出来るか、
つまり、論理的思考能力がどれくらい身についているか、が合格に直結します。
なぜ、進学校の人たちは東大に受かる？
よく、東大に合格者を多く輩出する高校を目にしたことはないでしょうか？
・灘高校
・筑波大附属駒場高校
・開成高校
・桜蔭高校
・ラ・サール高校
などです。
いわゆる「名門」と言われる学校に東大合格者が多いのはなぜでしょうか？
実際、私が東大に入って、こうした名門校出身の同級生の高校時代の様子を聞いて見ても
普通の高校生と同じように部活や趣味に取り組んでいる生徒が多いです。
高1や高2で毎日10時間も勉強している人はこうした学校でも少数派です。
しかし、受験になると毎年東大合格〇〇名と多くの合格者が出ます。
なぜ、過ごし方は変わらないのにこんなに大きな差が出るのか？
私たち普通の高校生と彼らの決定的な違い、それは
「思考力が身についているかどうか」なのです。
中学受験で難関と言われる学校に合格する生徒の多くは小学校の段階から
知識だけでなく、論理的に考える力を学びます。
つまり、彼らには既に必要な「論理的思考力」がある程度身についているわけです。
だからこそ、受験生になって必要な知識や過去問演習を積むだけで
同じ勉強量でも大きく成績が伸びるのです。
東大合格に必要なのは圧倒的な勉強時間や知識ではありません。
確かに受験にあたっては多くの勉強時間が必要になることが多いですが、
それよりも大事なのは「論理的な思考が出来るか」
つまり、日頃から物事を論理的に考える癖が身についているか、という部分になります。
東大の話ばかりしてきましたが、
難関国立大学では概ねこの傾向が強いです。
論理的思考を武器にして、東大への合格を掴みとりましょう。
